Digital Data Holdings at ENODC |
The collecting digital data at ENODC are converted to WOD format and the data on the printed sheet or analogue record are digitized at ENODC. Those data are stored in the file by instrument or by data type with sort in order of cruise or geography.

DC provides observational data together with some metadata, e.g. data originators, research vessels, etc. in WOD Format, but such metadata are omitted from ODV spread sheet.

ODV spreadsheet |
ODV (Ocean Data View) was developed at Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany. And it is a software package for the interactive exploration, analysis and visualization of oceanographic data. ODV spreadsheet is used by ODV software. And, ENODC provide more restricted the generic ODV spreadsheet.

NetCDF Files |
NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) is an interface for array-oriented data access and a library that provides an implementation of interface. The NetCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing scientific data. Together, the interface, library, and format support the creation, access, and sharing of scientific data. The NetCDF software was developed at Unidata Program Center (UPAR). ODV, GMT, nc Browse and others are used for manipulating or displaying NetCDF data.
A data file for serial stations consists of data at one station and that for ocean currents consists of one cruises data. Such data files are combined and compressed into Zip file.
